Ways to Support NFA
Norwood-Fontbonne Academy is an independent academy and a sponsored work of the Sisters of Saint Joseph. The Academy is supported through the tuition, fees, grants and the generosity of alumni, staff, friends, corporate donors, and community members.
There are many ways to contribute to NFA. Every effort, every contribution and every prayer offered for NFA is greatly appreciated. These financial and personal contributions help ensure that each student at NFA is empowered by the NFA Vision and becomes one who enjoys learning, treasures self, others and the earth, lives Gospel values and makes reflective choices as a self-directed person.
The Office for Institutional Advancement has established various vehicles for contributions. These are described below:
Gifts to NFA’s Annual Appeal are unrestricted funds which supplement the school’s budget and support a wide range of enhancements. Each year, at the discretion of the administration, funding from the Annual Fund is allocated to the school’s spiritual development efforts, academic and co-curricular offerings, staff development programs, the maintenance of the physical plant, and tuition assistance.
Reaching Our Dream Capital Campaign
The Reaching Our Dream Capital Campaign is a phased improvement plan to completely enhance the Norwood-Fontbonne Academy experience. Students are already reaping the benefits from the first phase. A huge Commons hosts catered lunch in the dining room, assemblies, theatre shows and Liturgies. Students and parents love the air-conditioned, state- of- the- art classrooms in an expanded Sr. James Anthony Hall, native planting garden and walking trail as well as the outdoor classroom. Many more improvements have been made and even more are planned!
Donors employed by companies with matching gift programs are encouraged to request that their employer make a matching contribution to NFA. Personal gifts to the school can be doubled and sometimes tripled by this employee benefit. To see if your company is a Matching Gift company, please click here.

Educational Improvement Tax Credit/Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit Program: Direct Your PA Tax Dollars to NFA through these tax credit programs
The EITC and OSTC tax programs present an opportunity for companies to re-direct their PA state tax dollars to education and specifically to NFA in support of financial assistance and mission-related projects.

Gifts of Appreciated Securities
Gifts to NFA may be made in the form of appreciated stocks and securities. This type of donation can provide the donor with significant tax advantages.
The simplest way to make a planned gift is to name Norwood-Fontbonne Academy as a beneficiary in your will. A personal attorney, accountant, tax advisor, or the NFA Office of Institutional Development can provide information on how to designate a charitable bequest of NFA.
When making a contribution to NFA, donors may honor or memorialize a special person, organization or event. The Office of Institutional Development will work with the donor as needed and a letter will be sent from the Academy to the designated individual informing them of your generosity.
Contributions to the Annual Appeal, Reaching Our Dream Capital Campaign, and other special fundraising projects are tax-deductible and may be charged to a donor’s MasterCard or Visa. You may donate online.
