Welcome from our President

The process of choosing a school for your child is a challenging and difficult one. As you enter this process of discernment I hope you will consider Norwood-Fontbonne Academy, a sponsored work of the Sisters of St. Joseph.

In our 98th year, we embark on an amazing time at Norwood-Fontbonne Academy and our mission to serve the needs of our students is possibly more relevant today than ever before. At the heart of our mission is living a faith filled life, grounded in social justice, in solidarity with all of our brothers and sisters in our one human family. Our unparalleled service learning program allows our students to put faith into action and develop a life-long commitment to empathy and philanthropy.

Our Signature Curriculum fosters creativity, intellectual curiosity, independence, and self-discipline. With dual path options of Montessori and Primary we afford varied opportunities to serve the needs of all children unique in the Philadelphia area. Our innovative blended learning and STEM programs along with student centered, cross curricular instruction in arts and humanities provides a balanced education for all learners. Our rigorous curriculum prepares students to advance to highly competitive Catholic and independent schools.

With our 14 acre city campus and more than 65 co-curricular programs we rival large independent schools in programming opportunities in a small, nurturing learning community. We expand learning beyond the classroom to our outdoor spaces and the larger Chestnut Hill community to provide a rich, complete academic experine. All of our programs coalesce in the formation of independent scholars prepared to think critically, act compassionately, and lead faithfully.

We invite you to explore our website and visit our campus to learn all “the more” that awaits you here. Open house events and private tours are available year round. Thank you for considering us as partners in your child’s education.

Sincerely,

Ryan Killeen, Ed.D.
