Director of Institutional Advancement:

Norwood-Fontbonne Academy is currently Director of Institutional Advancement. Norwood-Fontbonne Academy is a pre-k through grade 8, Catholic, Independent, co-ed, elementary school sponsored by the Sisters of Saint Joseph and located in Chestnut Hill, Pennsylvania.

Position Summary

The Director of Institutional Advancement identifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards donors to advance the mission of Norwood-Fontbonne Academy (NFA) School from within all of NFA’s constituencies including the Advisory Board, committee members, faculty and staff, alumni, current parents, alumni parents, foundations, corporations and other members of the community at large.  The incumbent’s focus is on building a culture of philanthropy among all constituencies.  The Director of Institutional Advancement oversees the Office of Institutional Advancement and related personnel. The Director of Institutional Advancement serves as a member of the Senior Leadership Team and works closely with its members, as well as with all school constituencies.

Essential Skills, Requirements, Education and Experience:

  • Demonstrates a commitment to embracing Catholic education, specifically the mission of Norwood-Fontbonne Aacdemy and the Sisters of St. Joseph.
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required, Master’s degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of five – seven years in a leadership role in development with primary experience in major gifts, annual fund and alumni relations in an educational setting or other relevant organization. Preference for independent school experience.
  • Proven experience with opening and closing major gifts.
  • Strong knowledge of development database and software.
  • Exceptional personal integrity, accountability, and commitment to results.
  • A team player and team builder that has a passion for and commitment to achieving excellence in all aspects of the School’s missionProven success developing, managing and building relationships with a focus on alumni, current parents, alumni parents, any major donors, faculty and staff, foundations, and corporations. Experience with boards is valued.
  • Exceptional communication skills – verbal, writing, and editing.
  • Strong ability to identify and resolve issues. Demonstrated leadership and effectiveness in developing a long-term strategic vision and accomplishing organizational and financial goals.
  • Results-oriented, able to see concepts and ideas through to implementation with the assistance of key constituencies; demonstrates a strong ability to set and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, requiring minimal direction for completing assignments and projects.

Technology Associate:

Norwood-Fontbonne Academy is currently seeking a part-time Technology Associate to join our Technology Department. Norwood-Fontbonne Academy is a pre-k through grade 8, Catholic, Independent, co-ed, elementary school sponsored by the Sisters of Saint Joseph and located in Chestnut Hill, Pennsylvania.

Position Summary:

As a member of the Technology Department, the responsibilities of the Technology Associate may include working with the Director of Technology in:

    • Assisting in the administration and management of all network components (troubleshooting, configuration, replacement, migration, etc.)
    • Assisting in the auditing and overseeing network accounts, including but not limited to Google Accounts, Active Directory and various learning platform systems.
    • Responding to service ticket requests as needed
    • Providing ancillary support for Faculty and Staff
    • Documenting network configurations and produce end-user instructional guides in either a written or video format.
    • Assisting in web-site management
    • Assisting in evaluating new systems, technologies, and learning platforms
  • Other basic technology tasks as required

Essential Skills, Requirements, Education and Experience:

    • Demonstrated strong interest in technology
    • Basic and Technical knowledge, and demonstrated skills or familiarity with:
        • Computer Hardware and Networking Components
        • Windows, Macintosh, iOS, and Chrome OS
        • Google platform and Active Directory (preferred)
      • Basic html and web platforms
    • Analytical thinking / Problem solving ability
    • The ability to work independently, and in team environments
    • The ability to establish and meet deadlines
    • Above average communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong writing ability, especially with technical and end-user documentation.
  • The ideal candidate will be an independent worker, self-motivated, be results and detail oriented, and possess a willingness to learn.

Mathematics Teacher: Grades 7 & 8

Norwood-Fontbonne Academy is seeking a full-time  teacher of mathematics. The applicant must possess strong motivational skills to assist 7th and 8th grade students in developing an understanding of rigorous curriculum in Pre-Algebra and Algebra I, as rooted in the NCTM Standards. Portfolio should reflect implementation of  innovative techniques. Candidates should have demonstrated skill in understanding the young adolescent, empowering student mathematics development through use of various media, fostering student success.

Norwood-Fontbonne Academy is a pre-k through grade 8, Catholic, Independent, co-ed, elementary school sponsored by the Sisters of Saint Joseph and located in Chestnut Hill, Pennsylvania.

  • BS/Certification in Mathematics Elementary or Secondary Education. Masters preferred.
