• Wireless upgrade for entire campus; new server and infrastructure upgrades

2015-16 Funds for 2016-17 school year

Investments in Signature Curriculum areas-Religious and Academic formation
• New English Language Arts (ELA) materials ($25K); empowering students to research, critique, and communicate with excellence in the information age. ($12K from government funds was added to the NFA investment)

• “Go Math” – ($25K) new curriculum to further our children’s mathematical analysis skills, strengthen foundation for STEM work, and support their use of statistics, etc. for interpretation of data, etc. Such skills empower a deeper understanding of world economy and global citizenship ($10K from government funds in addition)

• Ongoing religious formation of staff (Jesuit training) and support of service learning curriculum modifications

Raising the Bar in Technology:
• Updating school information management system (about $10, 000)
• Increasing 1:1 computing with Chromebooks now used by grades 5 to 8 across all subject areas
• New educational apps incorporated for empowering students to fully maximize the capabilities of the chromebooks and to be digital citizens; new Digital Arts Center for art and music instruction, Weather Bug weather station relaunched for furthering STEM integration
• I-pads and digital display monitors

Sustaining Buildings and grounds:
• Shoring up the heating systems in SJAH building and Big House with boiler conversion (done in both last year and this year’s monies) $ 23,000
• Fully converting the Base Automation System( BAS) due to extinct computer programs for heating and HAVC in SJAH and Commons- ( done in both last year and this year’s monies) $27,000
• This year: replace significant portions of asphalt underpinnings of waste management/parking/driveway areas on both Fontbonne and Norwood Campus ($30,000). This will be an essential support for the Collaborative Waste Initiative as we work to become more trash-free and increase recycling at the same time.
• Continue to assess grounds for aging trees ( beauty and safety issue)
• Upgrade softball field and football practice field by replenishing sod and grass on Norwood Campus ( about $5,000)
• New campus truck
• New carpet in Media Studies and Library classrooms

2016-17 Funds for 2017-18 school year

Investments in Staff development and Signature Curriculum areas-Religious and Academic formation
• Campus minister attended the Mid-Atlantic Conference for Religious Education in Baltimore- exposure to national presenters/theology/religious ed leaders; participate in special prayer and Mass experiences, see and review materials for our programs ($600K)
• 5 staff members attended the Regional National Association of Teachers of Mathematics conference in November; supported implementation of GO Math series new this year. ($2000) conference and subs
• Invested in ALICE program for updating staff in safety/security procedures throughout campus buildings (~ $5000)
• Purchased Social Studies materials supporting current world issues in the political, social-economic, scientific, and climate transformation realms ($18,000)
• Renewal cycle for Montessori materials for preschools and Junior Level (JLM) environments ($3000)
• New Library Chairs for preschool to grade 3 ($1200)
• STEM Classroom: Hardware and software for Coding and Robotics curriculum in Fontbonne Science area ($2600 for K-6)

Raising the Bar in Technology and new infrastructures:
• Implement new school information management system: Sycamore ($4600 plus training $2000)
• Increasing 1:1 computing with iPads used by grades 4 and 5 across all subject areas ($21,000)
• Updating server ($26,000)
• Classroom technology applications: Tumblebooks ($1700) SeeSaw ($2100)
• Digital display stations ($1100)

Sustaining Buildings and grounds:
• New emergency exits White and Carriage Houses: $10,700
• Upgrading SJAH gym heating controls: $14000
• Norwood Campus: retaining wall repaired, new curbing and drainage spillways,
($6500 +$22,700+$9000)
• New entrance sign at Fontbonne- ($2165)
• New doors for classroom area of Fontbonne /first floor and upgrade of SJAH main doors-security/safety ($90,000)

2017-18 Funds for use in 2018-19 school year

Signature Curriculum

• Extension of formal STEM curriculum into Grades 7 & 8
• Introduction of

  • Second Step for our Advisory program and classroom sessions to strengthen support for social–emotional development
  • Larson’s Big Ideas Mathematics (A Bridge to Success) for grades 7 and 8 and Pearson’s Elevate Science K-8 as new foundational materials for our goals in these curriculum areas

Staff Professional Development
• Staff Development: Initiation of Parent-Student-Teacher conferences to further focus on students becoming self-directed learners
• Participation of 4 staff members in the yearlong Sisters of Saint Joseph lay formation program: Spirits on Fire

Preservation Buildings and Grounds
• Addition of security cameras at both SJAH and Fontbonne
• Wonderland Project Phase 1- Norwood Campus rain garden, sports court, and sloped seating gathering space (under construction)
• Improvement of Fontbonne Campus parking lot and roadways: repair sections of paving and curbing along with sealcoating
• Studies for climate control (energy audit and performance evaluation) and then scope of work for Fontbonne Exterior Pointing

Technology & Infrastructure: Ahead of the curve
• iPads for grades 4 & 5 (replacing Chromebooks)
• Internal Security Communications System (furthers ALICE school security program)
• Sycamore School Management expansion incorporating additional features that support areas of Academics and Admissions
